Vice Presidential Debate
For Thursday’s Vice Presidential Debates, Tyrion Lannister of the Party of Thrones debated against representatives from the Violet Femmes, the Senior Party, and Wolf of Wall Street. On the subject of compromises in politics, Mr. Lannister stated that argument is the best way to find a middle ground, and that compromise is the only effective way to govern. Then, Megara Wolf of the Violet Femmes had a rare moment of agreement with the Party of Thrones.
Party of Thrones also supports incentives to encourage citizens to vote, as turnout is at an all-time low. When asked whether the President should have the power to declare war, Lannister said that this would not change anything, as there are already multiple ways the President can do so unofficially. His party’s foreign policy will not remove our presence overseas, though they will be focusing more on domestic issues. On this note, Party of Thrones does believe that freedom is important, though security cannot be provided without taking some away.
As far as domestic issues, Party of Thrones was unable to give a clear answer on the subject of instituting a national language. Tyrion stated that this is a tricky issue as there are pros and cons to both sides of the argument, and that he cannot give an answer at this time. On this note, Lannister said that while majority rule makes the most people happy, individual rights are the most important. Border security will be tightened, though a more streamlined process will be instituted for gaining citizenship. He also stated that genetic modifications, such as GMOs and cloning go against God. Also, Lannister mentioned that while the environment is important, but it cannot come in the way of economic growth.
