Vice Presidential Debate: Lil' John Shows Lil' Disagreement
Robin Hood Party was prepared for the debate with their vice presidential candidate Lil’ John. He explained that the Robin Hood Party believes that individual rights should be a primary objective for the government and protecting groups of people with their rights being infringed upon will ultimately go to protecting the individuals. At this point, the Most Valuable Party’s vice presidential candidate disagreed, their party believes majority rule is better for the collective good.
Lil’ John also discussed his party’s views on science and technology, ultimately encouraging the education of youth. He said that the progress and development in scientific fields should be taught in youth education, and developments should be continued as long as they are ethical. The Robin Hood Party also mentioned that they aim to strengthen the separation of church and state, as the current system is allowing progress to be held back.
Finally, the Robin Hood Party’s vice presidential candidate was asked his party’s views on preemptive strike on countries that might be a threat. Lil’ John had a fairly clear explanation that the Robin Hood Party was against preemptive strikes, and they would always try to solve any issues diplomatically. However, they believe in taking threats very seriously, (they define a threat as any aim to hurt the public of the United States), which is why the Robin Hood Party wants to build up defenses and start deactivating nuclear warfare.
In the open questioning and the final remarks, Lil’ John clarified that their proposition would mean taxing the rich initially, but then returning 50 percent of the 30 percent tax when the small businesses that were invested in can pay the money back. This is to help stabilize the economy with “trickle-down economics” and achieve ultimate goals of a democratic society heavily involved with the protection of individual rights and a “very capitalist society” that helps businesses.
Moreover, there was a relatively small amount of disagreement between the four groups debating-What? Party, Most Valuable Party, Robin Hood Party, and Mom Squad- most commonly these disagreements were between the Robin Hood Party and Most Valuable Party. Overall, Lil’ John did well at answering prepared questions but seemed to have some trouble answering open questions. His professional attitude throughout helped to convince viewers of his ideas and showed his respect for other parties.
