Vice Presidential Debate: A Foreign Policy That Confused
Senior Party’s vice presidential candidate Tressa defended and explained her party’s immigration policy at length on Thursday’s Vice Presidential debates. Though she was also asked about their views on mandatory voting, and if the president should be allowed to formally declare war, many questioners asked about the foreign policy she had explained.
After finding out that the Senior Party feels that mandatory voting is a waste of resources and agrees with the Violet Femmes that allowing the president to declare war is too much power for a single person, Tressa was asked about her party’s foreign policy. She explained that they hope to have a strong international protection for the people of the United States, and continue diplomacy and trade with other nations. However, the hands were raised at the next idea to close all immigration efforts (except for international travel). Both the Violet Femmes and the Wolf of Wall Street parties disagreed strongly at this. Vice presidential candidate, Donnie Azoff, of the Wolf of Wall Street Party stated that immigration was necessary to bring in intellectual capital. Tressa also explained her party’s belief that the United States has the right to attack any country seen as a threat. Her reasoning for this was based off of the ISIS “trail of terror”,[1] and the need to protect our “Christian brothers and sisters”. However, many members of the audience were confused and tried to figure out how the proposed foreign policy would work with her suggested ideals of protecting other nations. Tressa was unprepared for some of the questions, but eventually said that work and student visas may be allowed, though the party will need to “discuss the details further”. She also stated that this immigration policy was just so that the government could focus on making America more stable, implying that the immigration borders may not be cut off permanently.
Ultimately, viewers appeared to have been left slightly confused on the issues Tressa brought up. The questions asked of her were tough, but despite the slight confusion she was able to clarify and think on her feet. The Senior Party did do a fine job at the debate, hopefully some of the questions left over will be clarified at future events.
